Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) was established in the year 1939 and now is considered as one of the oldest medical universities of Kyrgyzstan. The initial batch of the university was comprised of 200 students. Presently Kyrgyz State Medical Academy is believed to be the pioneer medical academy in comparison to all the medical universities present in Kyrgyzstan. It has been observed and calculated that at present there are more than 540 teachers teaching in this university and a total number of 4,000 students studying MBBS in KSMA. The vast majority of foreign students are from India who are pursuing MBBS in Bishkek.

KSMA is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and enlisted with WDOMS. Students who want to pursue their further studies in countries like USA, UK, New Zealand, etc. can appear for USMLE, PLAT, NZREX.

The university offers opportunity to all its students to practice in various hospitals of the city to get vast and useful experience.

Recently, Kyrgyz State Medical Academy had celebrated its 70th anniversary and has entered the new decade of activity.

Accommodation

Kyrgyz State Medical Academy provides the best of hostel accommodation facilities to all its foreign students as the services are at affordable prices. The university offers separate rooms for girls and boys. The rooms of the hostels are well-equipped and furnished and are located close to the university. Apart from the mess facility for students, the hostel also offers the option of self-cooking. Every hostel room has free Wi-Fi access along with the facility of hot and cold water. There is a billiard parlor along with a canteen for the recreation of the students.

Student Life

Kyrgyz State Medical Academy is best known for its healthy and friendly environment for all its international students. Gymnasium, swimming pool, basketball courts, etc. are all available within the premises of the university.

During the summer season is usually dry with recurring strong winds and thunderstorm. In winter season, frequent fog is seen along with snow storms on a regular basis.
