The Medical Institute, Osh State University is a public medical institute located in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It was opened in 1992 and originally called the Osh State Pedagogical Institute. The university offers specialities in the field of General Medicine and Pediatrics.
The Medical Institute rewards the degree of MD (equivalent to MBBS in India). It is accredited, recognized and enlisted with WDMOS, Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the USA, International Medical Education Directory (IMED), and by the Medical Council of INDIA (MCI). Students who have completed their MBBS degree from Kyrgyzstan Universities are eligible to pursue their post graduate programs from other countries like US, UK etc.
During the years of its existence, the Medical Institute has trained foreign students from more than Twenty Countries. At present 2751 students are studying at the Medical Institute, including about 600 students from other countries such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Medium of Instruction is both in English & Russian.
All clinical hospitals at the Osh Medical Institute are equipped with modern facilities to train students at a high pace like any other western countries. In particular, all types of diagnostics, thermovision, Angiography, Endoscopic technique, Hyperbaric Oxygenation, Laser Therapy, Modern methods of detoxification and many other techniques are widely used.

The gymnasium and a cultural center offer brilliant opportunities to all the students and encourage the students to be active in sports and participate in cultural activities (theater, folk etc.). The university conducts various health recreation camps on the picturesque Issyk-Kul Lake.
